Head Coach and Camp Director

Matt Horth

Matt Horth was hired as the head coach for the men's soccer program in March 2017. Horth, a former professional soccer player and 2010 graduate of Gordon, will be the 12th coach in the program's nearly 60-year history.


During his three seasons in charge of the Fighting Scots, Horth has compiled a 30-23-4 overall record and secured the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship and subsequent NCAA National Tournament berth in 2018. He has coached 20 of his players to All-Conference selections and 3 All-New England selections.


Horth played soccer professionally with several teams including the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer (MLS); the Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League (NASL); Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer League (USL); and internationally with Icelandic club Leiknir Reykjavík of the 1. Deild Karla. Horth was twice awarded NASL Player of the Week and once named Player of the Month during his tenure with the Silverbacks.


Horth holds a B license from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and an Advanced National Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches organization (USC). He holds a Master's degree in Theological Studies from Liberty University and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Gordon College.
